Harvesting
The process begins with licensed divers harvesting the wild abalone from the
pure, clean oceans of South Eastern Australia. Pacific Shoji Divers are “live”
specialists. All of our products are handled with the utmost care ensuring
the live condition of the abalone is maintained.
Receival
The abalone are then transported to our live holding facilities where each
piece is individually sorted & weighed into size & quality categories.
The graded abalone are then placed onto colour coded trays and then into our
live holding tanks for purging. Superior technology & tank design simulate
the oceans natural environment. Each individual tank has its own closed water
system, equipped with biological filtration systems & temperature control.
Packing for export
After purging for several days, the live abalone are then removed from the
tanks and packed into polystyrene cartons of 10kg Net or 12kg Net weight.
Our Experienced staff follow strict quality standards in selecting the live
abalone so as to both minimize mortality and ensure customer satisfaction
upon arrival.
Transportation
Finally the abalone is then transported using temperature controlled trucks
to the airport. Pacific Shoji’s close proximity to Melbourne International
airport ensures fast, reliable delivery to the customer’s specified
destination.
